Standing Outside the Tower?

Sometime back, on one of the maps, at one of the fields, I ended up standing outside the tower instead of inside the tower.  I have never had that happen since.  Is there a way to walk outside the tower?  It was really neat view.

If I recall, you can move (arrow keys?) outside the tower like you can move around the cockpit.

F3 or F5 will do that......F2 to get back in.

You can use F3 or F5 then F8 and your arrow and zoom keys to look all around from outside.

You should actually be able to use your head-movement keys to move around (and a little bit outside) of the tower. Think of it as a very large cockpit.

I did get outside the tower with the "F" keys.  Tried the arrows and head up and down and that didn't work.  Neither of these techniques were like the standing outside I experienced before.

I know on one of the maps on one of the fields the standard tower view is standing outside.  Hopefully someday I will come across it again.

Bail out of a parked plane?

Deploy a plane to the fighter hanger (or the runway if you'd rather walk) and bail out of it (tap Enter three times).
