It's a whole new blue! Dodgers gonna win it this year. I've been puttin off buyin a new cap til they won another WS and this is the year it's happenin!
My current Dodgers cap goes back to the 80s. It's in decent shape but it's got that well worn look.
But Drano--you live in the middle of Phillies country--WTF?
Well--when I was a kid the Phils were off the scale horrible. Horrible like lost a hundred games and had their owner manage the team horrible in those late 60s early 70s. When I was maybe 6 or 7, I decided they sucked enough that I needed a new team. I adopted the Dodgers and been with em ever since. They got good with some homegrown players and got whooped on by the A's in the WS but I liked the players they had. Oh the Phils got a little better in the 70s with some great players brought up from the farm, but when they did my boys were right there to slap em back down. They got a little payback in '83 but then that was really the Phillies/Reds geezers vs the geezers from LA. Both teams were past prime and the O's took care of the Phils in the WS that year anyway. When Joe Carter hit the homer off Mitch in what was it '93-- I was LMAO!
Always followed the Phils tho. They've done some stuff over the years that has truely left me shakin my head (Von "5 for 1" Hayes)(Ryne Sandberg to the Cubs--yeah, he'll never amount to anything). I truely miss listening to the games called by Harry and Whitey. Those guys will be forever part of the soundtrack of my life. I was glad that Harry got to call one more WS win for the Phils before he passed. I will say this--if I had to pick a starting third baseman, Schmidt would be my guy. If I needed to pick a left handed starter, Carlton would be it. Two of my all time favorite players and at the same time hated enemies. Those guys rocked it.
