Actually he's telling you to let HT and Pyro do their jobs Sunchaser.

You divide the limited player base you have right now, you end up with less people in both arenas because if people can't find the fun they came here for.. they take off.

I trust Lephturn, he's been around for a while (I'm almost positive I'd seen him in WB around 1.06 or something.. I was there v.91 until v1.11r3). When did WB get the HA? I think it was around either 1.09 or it was 1.11 that introduced it. It was whenever they built the BoB/Europe terrain. That was a nice map!

If it had no AWACS display (in flight sector bar dot radar roadkill) I would fly in it.

An arena with only 30-40 plp... Hell, i dont know maybe more maybe less than that.  But, I personally love flying agasint many targets.  Where is the fun in supporting areans with only 30-40 plp in it? Reminds me of the old AW FR arena.

Maybe one day when ya cant "get in" the MA.

You forget that some of us don't live on mainland Amurrica, and we fly in arena with 30-40 people every night

btw...I vote yes, if they can get enough folks to make it feasible.

If I had my druthers it would be so.  I am not sure we have the numbers yet to have a 24/7 HA.  If you look at the attendance of the Snapshots, Check 6 and other "historical" events I would think not.  IMHO those are indicators, and they point out that most are not interested in a HA.  Certainly having more customers and recruiting would be a step in that direction.  Let me also suggest participation in Snapshots and Check 6 events would also.  Those of us who love the classic match are in a minority. In WB I almost never flew in the main. I only do here because I have little choice.  That is why I have worked so hard to get some special events going because, I like so many others do enjoy the classic match.

If you want an HA or something along those lines then get the numbers up in the current historical events we now have. We were having 40 to 50 for several weeks. Then 1.5 came out and they dropped off again. I know when we finally get some historical terrains that will be a boost, but only that.

Having a HA for Friday and Saturday might be a good step in that direction. I am with you guys, but we will have to take baby steps in that direction.

Ok, even from someone who has no interest in historical planesets..... In fact, I left a game (WB) because it (among other problems) became nothing but an "historical" planeset.
I say go ahead if it doesn't hurt service but... The "Hope for Action" arena will be deserted.  People go where the numbers are.  I never could figure out how people could have so little imagination that they would embrace the severe variety limitations imposed by an "historical" planeset tho..  I mean.... How long does it take to learn everything a 109 or 190 can do against you?

And how fun is it watching them do it every time?

"Having a HA for Friday and Saturday might be a good step in that direction"

And Sundays.
The MA has huge numbers these days, often so that the fun factor suffers IMO.Might be a solution that will benefit all parties.

Gotta disagree Danish. More numbers in an arena the better as far as I'm concerned.

But I've nothing against opening an alternative historical arena if people want that, though I doubt I'd be in there. When AW moved to split Euro / PAC planesets the boredom factor increased immensely. As Lazs said, how many times can you do 109 vs P51 or FW vs Spit in a semi-FFA environment?

Scenarios can increase player immersion significantly, but having pretty much the same old MA just with severly limited planesets holds little appeal for me.

Christ Lephturn, you sound like a MOM!

Another thing, stop telling us to go do HTCs job.

It is not up tp us to sell their wares, I get no kickback for acting as their ad dept.

LOL, I think Worr would be proud.   (Note, yes I have been around since WB 1.01 flying for Gold as a member of the Flying Pigs.)

I'm not telling you to do HTC's job, I am pointing out a fact.  The FACT is, if you want an HA the best thing YOU can do to get one sooner is help get more folks in the game.

Do whatever you want, but realize that saying "Do it." to a question on the BBS will get you nowhere.  If you do help get more folks into the game, you will be helping the community get to a position where a Historical Arena might be viable.  If you would find a Historical Arena valuable to you, then getting it sooner rather than later is your benefit or "kickback" for recruiting more folks.

I'm not telling you what to do, just pointing out the only reasonable thing you can do to actually get an HA if that is what you are looking for.
