wind and bombsight oddity
« on: April 12, 2013, 06:42:32 PM »
With the current wind settings in Late War, I wasn't able to hit anything from my Lancaster at 22k, despite on spot calibration mere seconds before reaching the target.  No matter what direction I was approaching my targets from. I never have missed my targets by that staggering amounts since I discovered the whole "calibration thing" in my second bomber sortie in 2005 ;)
Other players (and experienced ones as well) were having exactly the same problem.

Now the really odd thing: I went offline, enabled the very same wind settings as in LW and did a B-29 test run at 25.5K. To my total surprise all was working fine, the bombs all fell were they should.  :headscratch:

PLEASE FIX ASAP... the wind issue....

I did the same thing as Lusche. Did a bomb run online-MA-Late war....bombs missed.
Same run Offline - all bombs hit! Perfect calibration both times. This is very frustrating.

I wont be leaving the tower until this gets done.

I have to do more offline tests.

Online I had always the same behaviour - bombs landing way off to the east with the current settings on beta2, in different bombers and at different altitudes.
But while my bombs were exactly on mark offline using the AHTA08 terrain and B-29 at 25k, I did again experience the same deviations as I did online when flying on the beta2 terrain.

Typical German efficiency.

Ive seen the effects. I watched JG5 carpet a town in HE-111's with at least 30 seconds of perfect calibration, they missed in exactly the same way you described.

Wonder if Dale is gonna get the calibration fixed for wind

I set the wind in the TA to match Late War if you want to try there too.

Lusche I assume your offline bombsight arena settings match the online arena settings?
