Leave it as it is...... it's just right.  I see no harm in both friendly and enemy icon being as per the present enemy.  The idea that ac travelling at 200-300mph have big bright icons alarming enemy aa gun positions is ( and was) gamey IMO.

Realism schmealism.  Its not realistic to instantly repair a tank with a box of supplies nor is it realistic for pilots to rise from the dead and instantly take off with a new bomb laden plane.  The unrealistic skeet shooting success rate has a lot to do with unrealistic flying. Icons themselves are entirely realistic.  The game gets tinkered with, some like some don't, squeaky wheels get grease then other wheels get squeaky in protest.  Everybody likes to wrap the flag of realistic simulation around their demands, outrage is heartfelt by all.

How about having to reload the whirbee? It appeared to have a 20 round mag per gun. Whirbees need an occasional time out.

I noticed that only about 100 whirbees where actually produced, so I can say I have singlehandedly wiped them all out. I have probably destroyed the entire production run of P38s too.

im surprised no one thinks that vehicles should only seen aircraft icons up to only 1k away (600yds if not moving but they are moving lol :) )

dont make the gv's more visible make the planes less visible to vehicles imo.

The balance of power is with them at the moment and it's 1 sided bull.
As soon as you get a hint of an icon bang your dead.

Fix it.

Guess you need to keep moving fast, be more patient, and use the zoom feature.  I find a lot of gv's far beyond the icon range simply by drawing lines of travel between the base and town, spawn point and town, town and spawn point, etc.

I vote to keep it as it is.  It adds to the challenge and it keep the bomb tards from getting too comfy.   ;)

I think you have missed his point. Some people use the flaks as manned ack and run towards them just the same way as they were autoacks. The problem is, the chasing fighter has absolutely no chance to do anything against it as by the time he could see the flak (D600), he is already dead. Still, i agree with you about the btards.

Perhaps increase air to ground icon to 800 yards, and lessen ground to air icon to 3k?

:airplane: If we are going to have Icons in the game, make them the same for all situations! My personal preference is NO icons....do it like the real thing...then you would see more heads on a swivel and jinking around, instead of autopilot on and running a store errand!

Doesn't really solve the problem though as planes are easy to see against the sky.

I stand by my position that the icon ranges are fine, but friendly GV icons need the same treatment.  Hans in his Bf109 would not know there was a friendly Wirbelwind 5.5k yards away bearing exactly 243 degrees.  We've stopped Frank in his P-47 from knowing that, but Hans still has Gunter's position down pat and can lead Frank to him.

:airplane: Point well taken sir, but as Pand pointed out in another post, each aircraft would have wing tips colored to reflect which country they are flying for! Sure I can turn off my Icons, but is the other guy going to turn his off? We both know the answer to that! The problem is, no matter how you fly ACM in here, you are never out of sight of the "other" guys, and they are never out sight to you.
Guess we all have to remember that most of the guys in here are not real pilots, or have never been, so there fore would be lost without that visual reference.

Is the GV icon range ofr friendlies the same as for enemy? If not, I vote for shortening the icon range on friendly Whirbs and GVs instead. That would elimnate the advantage of being able to drag bad guys to invisible whirbles.
