INCREASE FLAK ICON RANGE

These need to be increased to atleast 1K at all times.
The balance of power is with them at the moment and it's 1 sided bull.
As soon as you get a hint of an icon bang your dead.

Fix it.

If you don't do recon (bring a Storch), you don't know where the flacks are.

Not trying to be provocative but, with a 1K icon wouldn't the balance of power be with the airmen? The turret on the wirble got slowed down if that's any consolation.

This issue came up last night with me when avid JU87-G2 user was laid to rest a few times with an Osti. Being the Osti driver I kind of forgot how much the icon issue really is a huge disadvantage for the hunters of the likes of me. I would not mind extending it out a bit beyond the 600 yard point.

After all I can reach out & touch them at 2.5K.

Then Bob in his fighter shouldn't know exactly where his friendly flaks are either.  The problem is not really the flaks so much as flaks being used unrealistically to clear one's six because you know where he is from 6000 yards out and your enemy won't see him until he is within 600 yards.

Tank Ace,

You have advocated very strongly for GVs to suffer less interference from airplanes.  The shoe is now on the other foot and it is the airplanes that need to be less effected by the GVs.

you still can. You just have to be crafty and provide a small profile. (albiet with a bomber that's kinda hard to do)

The better idea is to set all GVs with the same range on a/c icons that a/c have on GV icons.  It's not like a tanker buttoned up or not is going to be able to identify a plane 5 klicks out.

Any of you consider the current paradigm of the aircraft tank relationship is by design to keep and attract subscriptions for the GV aspect of this game?

I've given up on hunting tanks with the IL2 or Ju87G2 as an entertaining part of the game. Toting bombs out to dive bomb tanks is a snore because of the time needed to get to an alt that the wirbels or the T34 skeet shooters can't pick you off while you find them and setup for your attack. The effective kill range for the NS-37 or BK3.7 starts at about 300 yards. You are dead at 600 wirbel  or T34 skeet shooter. By the way on range VOX I over heard the current record holder visa rumor, single shot skeet shooting from a tank is 12 planes landed. Knowing rumors it's probably more like 3-5. Guess tanks don't need wirbel escorts anymore. Just lessons from that player.

Unlike in our planes you don't pilot wound the tank commander with a golden BB or wound\kill the machine gunner with cannon or bullet shrapnel. The exposed machineguns on the tank turrets require precision direct hits to disable them instead. I've parked a few tanks on the runway offline and made passes, then upped in the nearest manned gun on zoom to see fully entact top machineguns after blasting a light show down on the turret top with cannon rounds. My jury is out on getting rounds into the open turret on the wirbel and osti. Are we killing the gun crew or are we being required to precisely hit each gun to destroy it like with the tank turret machine guns?

My best night trying to kill a single T34 was dieing 3 times to it's main gun skeet shots first in a G2 then an IL2. Two other fighters went down to it and someone got pissed and carpet bombed the one T34 with 3 lancasters. And the T34 was spawning onto an open beach by himself killing Il2, G2 and fighters trying to mark him with rockets.

This is a tad too much arcade stinky lipstick on a pig's fishnet stocking draped hiney.

Unless the same things have been allowed in the competitors games to keep up subscriptions. Then you have to look at this from a longevity view towards the fact that hardcore GVers won't stay where they can't play against only other GVs even if the circumstances of their risk are 100% accurate when aircraft are present. At least the skeet shooting aspect of this could be done away with. The wirbels are bad enough and more historically accurate in killing me if one of the few ever produced happened to shoot at a low flying IL2.

I like the current settings when in a GV. Unfortunately I frequently rely on the braille method when searching out gv's from a plane. Hit sounds usually indicate a gv in icon range.
