Crash tests of disparate masses aren't very revealing.  I once touched the fender of a BMW while pulling out of a tight spot with my '01 Tundra.  Result: $1500 of damage to the BMW and, literally, not even a scratch on the Tundra.

They're called crumple zones. That means that when the BMW hits a wall at 50mph it absorbs the energy and protect the occupants in the 'survival cage'. Your Tundra will project the impact almost directly to the passengers and it would fail collision tests because of that.

I'd say your building code is either outdated or this fuel station clearly didn't follow it lol! Gas stations get impacts like that regularly and the structures should be built to handle them without collapsing.
