Great FSO
« on: April 22, 2013, 11:27:24 AM »
The Gunfighters had a blast this FSO, it was a great set up. Nice to have something a little different in the mix with the train and convoy attacks.  :salute

I agree, great job shifty. <S>
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I always like an excuse to fly planes I normally wouldn't.  The I-16 ain't that bad...

Ok it is, but it's still fun.   :D

We have been no preference for the last two setups but I kind of wanted to fly allied, just for the I-16. Still had plenty of fun!

Was cool to see a He-111 up there finally as well it's been a long time coming to AH.

Thanks guys. It needs some tweaking scoring wise I think before I use the system again. The main reason I added the Supply Targets of Opportunity was to bring the fight lower as it supposedly was on the Eastern Front. I think the Axis caught on to the idea a lot quicker how important these targets were and implemented a very aggressive and successful assault on them through all three frames. I know Dantoo picked up on it as Allied CiC in Frame-3 and did his best to keep them protected. Like anything done for the first time it needs some adjustments, but I think it is something we can use again on other setup maps that would support this type of combat. I'm glad it added some extra immersion for some of you, and I was glad to see how hard the Axis guys went after the targets. Honestly no new idea or design is going to work unless the players to make it work.   :salute

Is there any way to have the truck convoys spawn more frequently, or add more truck routes? There were I believe 3 train tracks that we we were scanning for the trains in frame 1. By the time we killed one train wouldn't take long before we could find another train on a different track.

I think the frequency of the trucks and trains spawning was something the Setup guys couldn't adjust.
The truck and train routes are part of the map design, there is no way to add to or subtract from them.

Of course, as indicated in your post, a new map should work (a copy of the old map - modified).

I'm lucky I can spell map, much less make one.

I figured it was something like that. Oh well was still a great idea and hope to see it used in future FSO's.

Gents,

I agree with all the accolades lay at Shifty's feet for the great job on this FSO.  The only thing that I ask is help to initiate a campaign to get the AH guys to bring in the MIG-3 and Yak-1 into the plane mix.  I flew HE111s in the last frame and look forward to see them again in the next FSO.  It is a great time to be in the correct airframes for the period.  However on the Russian Front we only tend to fight Lend Lease Airframes.  It would be good to start seeing the two backbones (MIG-3 and Yak-1) of the Russian Air Front in the mix of future Eastern FSOs.
