I have encountered a rather unusual bug and was told to post it here.
The other day I was flying my 109E when I got into a fight with a Brewster. We ended up low on the deck at about 300ft ASL. He scored some good hits that resulted in my right wing parting company. First thing I noticed was that my plane did not go into an instant spiral, but it banked to the right and floated down. When I hit the ground, I exploded and was sent to the tower.
However I got the message 'You have ditched' instead of the 'xxx has shot you down'. He was clearly the one responsable for shooting off my wing and I did not press .ef or click exit sortie. I crashed into the ground and died on impact.
Surely this would result in him getting the kill as he was D200 off my tail when I went to the tower. Unfortunatly I did not film the sortie and so can not send film.
Is this a bug?
