Newb CIC could use some coaching
« on: May 02, 2013, 02:09:42 PM »
Hey all,

Obviously I've missed a few things for this Frame.  Sorry for that.  What I need help with is getting ahead of the CIC curve instead of living behind it.  At this point, what are the things I need to know about.  For example, is there a briefing in game?  If so, what time?  What channels do I need to use?  I'm sure there's plenty else, so all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

G

No Fear Sir.

Just make yourself available on Vox text 150 for your kommanders.  Have a good grasp on the situation...ie: rules specific to the operation, etc....

They will do the rest.  It has been my experience that the FSO units are led by some of the finest Gents in the game.  Give them their marching orders and let them find the victory for you.

Yeah, standard command channel is 150 for CiC stuff. Most every squad has at least one member assigned to monitor that channel.

Be in the arena at least 30 minutes prior to start, to answer questions from people about stuff like: "what base do I take off from", "what are we attacking", "what aircraft are we flying"... you know, the stuff that was probably in your orders that people didn't read.  :D

Plan on remaining in the arena until the end of the frame, to make sure everyone knows when they need to head home and tower out, or to divvy up second strike orders, or reassign assets as the battle rages on.

You are doing fine.  I'll shoot you an email when I get home from work about the take off base and a few pointers so you don't go getting yourself all worked up over Friday.  All in all, we are good to go!

Also read this,
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,346282.0.html

Everyone is a noob at some point. Some squads prepare their next CiC's for months. I watched and waited and learned for 8 months before taking up the reigns.

It took me quite a while and even now I sometimes need to ask for assistance from the prior AK's that held my position.

So don't be to hard on yourself you will learn with time. If you ever need help just ask and there are several that will help.
