Arena change
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:04:12 AM »
I propose that the EW and MW, and AvA are dead arenas and the game would be better served with a different format for 'alternate arena's other than LW.

It seems obvious that folks prefer the complete planes set, so arena ideas that limit the planes sets are not working. Perhaps some of the other variations of LWMA arenas could be tried instead.  What would be a better format for the other arenas? disuss..  :salute

At this moment we have more than 13,000 kills in MW in the current tour.

Is that "dead"?

Hell, why not whine for the event arenas while you're at it.  ;)

Terrible idea -10000

The thing is it's not just whether or not an arena gets a lot of use or not.

Players develop things for a particular arena and some of those wind up in other areas of the game and that benefits all.

Also concepts get tested in other arenas and some of that may become part of the larger game as well.

Don't know how much it costs for HTC to host an arena, but he will lose some customers if he gets rid of AvA.

There is no way I am going to fly a spit vs spit, mustang vs corsair situation. I'll go to Il2 or something else.

I can only speak for one, but I know of others I think would leave too. Plus they will lose a lot of content creation that benefits SEA and custom arenas as well.

You should have been in AvA last Tuesday and Wednesday night. It wasn't full, but it wasn't dead either and players got to see some really cool new stuff.

Plus other developments are happening from content creators and possibly from HTC that will add to the dynamic, at least in AvA.

AvA is an option that is just a good idea to have around.  There's a number of people who want to play like Jimson stated, don't want allied vs allied/axis vs axis.  Between that and the stuff they can fiddle with that the MA's can't, I think it'd be a really bad idea to get rid of it.

EW and MW I don't think are terribly useful, but then again, the LW provides me with what I want most of the time, and when it doesn't, EW and MW sure wouldn't either.

Wiley.
If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.

What is the LW total at this point?

..also don't forget you have to subtract out the perk farming from those 13,000.  ;)

I mean a possible revision, like Three countries, American vs Japanese vs German. the rotate which countries are which a different day of the week, or week of the month etc. get creative. Attendance is down.  :salute   You know I like the format, but there's no one there.

I think probably the better solution would be if the staged mission system gets optimized and enabled for the AvA.

I believe we could do some really cool things with that and our current format.

Leave MW alone!!! If you don't like flying there, fine. Stay out!!! Its great for those that like a slower pace and the chance to get to know others better, on ALL sides.

Why is everyone trying to change what they never use, as if no one else uses it. :bhead
