I agree with WW....IIRC the in game plane carries the weight of ventral gun/ammo.
I had the privilege of knowing a vet who piloted A-20's in south pacific. He was surprised I knew about the plane. I specifically asked about the ventral gun, he said some would take it...maybe mission specific? He said it was fast on the deck...

Since we have the A-20G with the powered upper turret instead of the flex turret, means the Havoc we have is an A-20G somewhere between blocks G-20 and G-45.  In that case, then the ventral gun should be a single .50 caliber machine gun.

The EARLY A-20G <-1, 1st 250>, had the ventral gun and there was no manned auto-turret <electric> on top <less weight> and had 4x20mm and 2X50cal in the nose.
