If only GV's could see the GV bar.......and not visible from the tower. It might be a good addition, But since you can hear GV's within 3.5 k there really is no need. Missions with M-18's would come to an end if someone could see a huge GV mission in bound. When a field starts flashing someone always lets everyone know.
You completely misunderstand the purpose of the bars. In a GV and to lesser extent in a plane, the bars are unimportant once you have spawned. The bars are there to decide where to spawn from.
The way I read it, you do not want GV bars because you want unopposed "huge GV mission" in M18s.
If what you want to avoid is planes attacking your GVs I can only give you the advice that bomber guys have been getting for years - get some escort/aircover. I'll be happy to provide some myself if only I knew where the heck to find our GVs besides in tank town.
