My Turtle Beach and Logitec headsets bit the dirt within a year.  I now use my Bose AE2's with a separate mic. Best and most comfortable set up yet.

The Bose quietcomfort 15 is awesome in any noisy environment. Highly recommended if you need to isolate yourself from background noise and the sound quality overall is pretty nice.

They do not, however, work for any impact noises or children screaming etc so well. Best use is to get rid of computer fans or airplane noise etc.

I've had a Sennheiser USB headset for almost 5 years and still strong.  I have no problems with USB at all.

After many headset/mic combo's, I am back to a headset with a good old MS (older than dirt) standing microphone.  Works great and I doubt if it will ever break.  :D
