I was told that re-arming is not scored as another sortie.

Correct.  That is the flaw.  Each time a plane ups from the ground should be tracked as a new sortie.  It is not.

Because of this "feature" many abuse the rearm pad getting double digit kills in one "sortie" and the like.

So what? this does not affect their score. How is this an abuse anyway? They shot down that many planes without dying or taking crippling damage, so getting the "attaboy" on country channel is somewhat justified.

When rearming I would like a flipdown video display in my cockpit.

Whatever personal issue you have with re-arm pads, it wasn't accidentally coded into the game and, as such, isn't an abuse no matter what you perceive. If you want to brag that you never use it, meh, ok. And you will never be forced to. You could just as easily brag that you never bother landing and auger once your fuel and or ammo is wasted ... I mean used up. Creating a religion, however ... :D

WWII pilots commonly scored double digit kills each "sortie".  If you think there is something wrong with this...well there must be something wrong with YOU!  The rearm pad is not used at all to achieve this.  Those same pilots that do this over-and-over could do it it without using the rearm pad.  They just have not chosen to do so.  What is wrong with you man?  You want this game to more resemble WWII sorties or something!!!  You are really obsessed with this point to want that dude.

1 major thing you are missing.....AH MA does not in any way replicate WW2....period

it is a combat game that uses WW2 equipment.

[sarcasm?]

It was awfully unrealistic coding of the the game to allow players not only to continue to have an active account but to re-up after dying (and for any chess-piece country in any plane from any nationality currently coded into the game ... or even to switch branches and drive a tank or PT boat), eh?

Next?

 :D

[/sarcasm?]

You're free to practice whatever game pseudo-religion you want. That is the true brilliance of it all.  :D :aok

I wish that when I am on the rearm pad, there was a quick animation of a crew running out and rearming the plane.

This would only work if there is only one plane on the rearm pad at the time, and the engines would have to be turned off.

It would probably be more trouble than it is worth, but I think it would be a fun addition.
 Simple fix for a lot of things, do away with the re-arm pad!! That would cut out the score warts and change some base capture options. Seems kinda silly that you capture a base, land, rearm to go out and kill the GV's trying to take it back. Why not just go kill the VH which spawns into the captured base to begin with? The whole idea behind this game is stick and rudder ACM's and kills.
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

If that's the whole idea then why do we have ship guns, manned ack, tanks, and goons? You must be thinking of the DA.
