Almost Unplayable
« on: May 04, 2013, 09:06:17 PM »
To say that is an understatement. Didn't have this problem before the last update :bhead :bhead. I'll try to break it down
Screen freezes for a split second soon as I pull the trigger. :joystick:
I've seen people be killed at a spawn and watched there icon zoom back to the base and then saw it streaking back to the spawn when they reup :bolt:
Vox occasionally repeats.
worst of all is when in a fight I, By my view, avoid a cherry picker and cause an over shoot. Yet 3 seconds after he passes I first hear pings...1 second later I get a pilot wound...1 second after that I'm sitting in the tower. No there was no other plane and this has also happen when attempting to avoid an HO. :furious
Also it has become nearly impossible to spot GV's. Icons barely show and sometimes their underground. :headscratch:
The list goes on. Like I said. I never had this problem before the new server and latest update. :bhead :bhead :cry

Hows your ping to the game servers? With out more info you sound like an old lady saying she has a squeak in her car.

Get ping plotter here, http://www.pingplotter.com/downloads/pngplt_1.exe It's a free program. Install it and type in the address for the main arena 206.16.60.39 let it run for about 10 minutes at a ping a second. If anything shows up red, you have a crappy connection and there is nothing HTC can do about it. If it's all green and steady, list what your game setting are as well as the first/top third of a Dxdiag here and maybe someone can pin point a problem with your computer.

Seeing as there are thousands of players that CAN play the game it is more likely that YOU have a problem, not the game. The more info you can post, the better the help you can get.

I know..Intel sucks but Skuzzy says it will run and it did work fine before the server change.
Ping Times are bad.
Feel like there are other code related issues involved here also.

I can confirm VOX messages repeats. But they are occasional and not annoying at all.

What is being described amounts to resource issues.  Your computer has a CPU barely above the recommended minimum and the Intel video chip is the slowest you could have.

In "Video Settings".
1)  Set the "Maximum Texture Size" to 128.
2)  Anti-aliasing must be set to none.
3)  Make sure the filed of view is set to "Auto".
4)  Set the game resolution to 1366x768.

In the games Options->Graphic Details
1) Check all options with the word "Disable" in them.
2) Make sure "Enable Ground Clutter" is not checked.
3) Set the "Ground Detail Range" slider close to the 0.5 mile setting to the right.

In the games Options->Graphic Detail->Advanced panel
1)  Uncheck everything, except "Detailed Water".

That should help improve the performance of the game.

As the CPU is the bare minimum to run the game, you need to make sure absolutely nothing is running in the background.  Each active process will dramatically impact the performance of the game on that computer.  If you run iTunes, or anything from Intuit, or Norton, or McAfee, then your performance is going suffer in the game.

In the Windows Task Manger, under the "Processes" tab, make sure the CPU activity is at 0, all the time, in order to get the most performance you can from this computer.  Make sure you disable any power management as well.

The last update added "bump mapping" to the bomber drones.  So if you are a bomber pilot, and you have "Bump Mapping" enabled, then you could see a performance drop.  But you should never use "Bump Mapping" with an Intel video chip.

Make sure you disable any power management as well.

when I go to Power Options Properties I have the choice of:
Home/Office Desk
Portable Laptop
Presentation
Always On
Minimal Power Management
Max Battery

mine is set at Home/Office Desk

I have the options to "save as" or "delete".
But nothing about turning it off.

Do I delete all of the options and then save as; hit apply & OK ?

what version of windows are you running?

in vista, win7 and win8 you should have an option for "change plan settings" and under that "advanced settings"
