I believe this would be both the quickest and cheapest solution.  :cheers:
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

The problem with a plasma is most (resonably priced for the every day man) will only cut up to just over 1/2" solid metal. I don't think a plasma would so well on square tubing as you would have to be able to access the inside of the cage to cut that side of the tube.  Cut off wheel would be the best method.

While reaching the inside would be a challenge the plasma is mucho faster.

I still think you could do it faster than a grinder. It really doesn't matter because Slate has the correct answer.
