110 Vs 47M
« on: May 10, 2013, 11:52:44 PM »
Theoretically, the 110 should win in a low and slow turn fight... so why is it that I beat a 110 twice in a low and slow turn fight with a 47M?

And yes, I have film to support this. I will upload it first chance I get (meaning as soon as I find it...  :uhoh)

Why are you low and slow in either of those in the first place?

Cool: two threads about one fight!  ;)

Both 110's turn pretty good IMO, it's just you will hardly see a 110 be used for a dog fighter rather than a HO machine.

In a nut shell... I was trying to BnZ, but he wouldn't hold still. This caused me to become impatient and since there were no other cons around (at least the second time there weren't) I figured I would stay off his nose and start turning. I ended up at about 150 mph at full flaps trying to pull lead. For whatever reason, the second time I distinctly remember him breaking left after we had both been in the right hand turn for about a minute. I was assuming he had pulled to hard and started to stall. The left hand roll was an attempt to recover.

He was probably one of those pilots that empties their tail gun to save weight for turning. If he had kept those rounds, he could have leveled off and started shooting at me, I would have broken off to look for another angle.

110s are easy generally meat for any Jug. When they level off and get in the tail gun, they're punching their ticket for a trip to the tower. The only time a 110 has a chance is with a HO. If they miss, it's over for them.

I know someone in game that can make a 110G turn with a P39Q so the jug has no chance in hell in a pure turnfight I won't name any names caused he asked not to be named

When LilMak is flying the jug, every other plane in the sky is just waiting for a ticket to the tower.   :joystick:

But, as everyone has noticed any plane in the right hands can cause you trouble.

My limited flights in the a 110 makes me come to the conclusion that after 3 or 4 turns, if you haven't killed them already, you're pretty much SOL unless against an incompetent plane/pilot.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Its all about the pilot, take two pilots that are just about the same and then the plane can make the difference. I have beaten zeros and brews slow turn fighting in my 110G in the DA to the point i was told my 110 was hacked, ask adb. It really is all about the pilot and his skill lvl nothing more.

Well the P39 isn't really that maneuverable.

I shot down a 109K4 in a 1 on 1 dogfight using the forward .303s of a Boston. I've also defeated LA7s with a TBM and an F4U with an SBD. Clearly the K4, Lala and hog are under modeled.
