Early A20G's
« on: May 11, 2013, 02:04:56 PM »
Early A20g's had 4x 20mm cannons in the nose - most were given to russia who downplayed their role, but they were extensively used for ground attack. There's plenty of proof it served in combat, down the road it would be a nice addition.

The four 20mm would be nice if they could be done as a perk option.  Done as just a gun option they would cause the extinction of the much more common .50 cal armed A-20Gs in the game, and that would be a shame.

Well yeah it would be a perk option, however since its an attack plane it uses fighter perks so I'm all for perking it, especially since we know what cobia38 would do if it was added in game - Deathstar Part 2.

Bomber perks actually.  It is a bomber.  The attack option is just for scoring purposes.  For perk purposes it is a bomber.

The early A-20G blocks that had the 20mm cannons also had the flexible top turret instead of the powered turret we have on our later A-20G blocks.

The question is; does the difference between the flex turret and the power turret, or even between the plane's themselves, warrant the A-20 4 x 20mm to be modeled by itself?  Or are the similarities too close to have this as an option?  Close as in closer to each other than F4F-3/4 we have.

I am on record as saying that package ought to be perked.

Also, two wrongs don't make a right.

Only if they remove F3 view for the A20, then definitely +1, otherwise ...no thanks

F3 mode would have to be removed and it perked - otherwise the hordetards would simply overwhelm a base with half a dozen a20s since it can do everything.
