This is boring, eh maybe not
« on: May 12, 2013, 12:26:56 AM »
I upped tonight to defend  a base against a large dar bar of Bish. I kept looking behind me because according to the dar they were very close. Then I realize they are so high you could barely make out their dots. They stayed that way for a good bit. So might as well climb. When I'm about 6k a P51 finally came in on me. I Split S'd and no issues. Eventually he came back again. I did the same thing. Now he gets more aggressive. My speed is about right for a reversal. When he approaches yet again I roll back on him and ping him some as he zipped by. Then he successfully HO's another plane but when he attempts to exit a countryman takes off part of his wing at about 25 degree angle from head on. I figured he was going down but no. He actually got a hold of his craft and was trying to make his way back home. My countryman then say, "Sabot, don't let him get away." I wep up and pull behind the struggling pony and give him a quick burst of lead. Now he goes down. Much to my surprise I get the kill. Nothing was said but I apologized.

The other cons stay high for now and I start my climb again. Eventually if you keep circling for that perfect pick people get up to you and so was the case this time. Then shortly afterwards it's on the deck. Soon I spot a furball with most of our guys on the deck fighting with bish while about 3 or 4 high bish are trying to save their countrymen. I can't remember my next kill but I can my last 3. After dodging a 190D I spot a P47 about co-alt but probably not Co-E. He doesn't spot me but instead goes in on one of my countrymen who already has a Ki84 on his tail. Fixated on the P47 I don't really see or at least focus on the KI. But then all of a sudden I'm 200 off the KI. What the heck! I open fire on the kI and then take out the P47. 2 kills in about 2 seconds. That was awesome. A minute later I'm dodging a Tempest and another 190D. When they move on to more stationary targets I spot a Spit 8. I go after him. In spite of all my tracers going by he doesn't turn but instead focuses on another countrymen. Well I should have been a better shot. My countrymen gets taken out by a spit that I'm only 400 yards off his tail. Low on ammo I head back to base when I spot a streaking red dot coming at me. It was a 262. I just dodged it and landed.

I like that pony guy, my first kill. He was ready to mix it up and wanted some action. It turned into some pretty good action after all. My first thought this was going to be boring and why did I up. I've seen bad guys just come over to base and hang and hang and hang. This however turned into a fun battle.

I had the same fun tonight, upped a Ki-84 at A31 (bish base) and flew around from what appeared to be a massive rook group coming in. I seen a few 38s and 51s do the long shallow dive, so I climbed to 15k, picked off a few trying to hit the base. One pony came in over 20k and I was roughly 14k. We started tumbling down as I was expecting him to BNZ and run he ended up reversing on me which I didn't expect. I ended up nailing him before his buddy nailed me (after 10? passes), so I upped a 109k to chase him down - lone behold the running pony was off to land his prize - but I spot two Me-262s patrolling the area, both blow by me without even taking an interest, finally I turn my back to one and just keep an eye on him and there's the long shallow dive after me - I waited until 2k then reversed and got ready for the dodge - to my surprise we both HO'd. He went boom and I lost a wing.

Over all the day was good fun all around, except for having lancstuka's carpet bomb me, then again that base had an amazing defense, with hangers down 3-4 times we still managed to keep it from the onslaught even after it was carpet bombed a dozen times.

Amazing how many whines the bish threw out "oh were being horded..." yet rooks/knits had an equal fight going on at their front. Over all its been one of the best days I've had furballing, tanking, buff hunting.

Yep all round great fun. Few flights in the big furball at A60, then moved with the pigs to win the map, taking on some well defended rook fields.  :airplane:

It was pretty equal on all fronts. I fought Rooks and Bish alike. Knights had a couple of missions going on the Rook front. Didn't participate too heavily because I was running logistics. hehe
