« on: May 16, 2013, 11:22:39 AM »
Lately I'm having a problem with seeing the icons on GV's while flying. :O Used to see them from up to 2k away. Now I have to be within 800yds. By that time a warble has done ripped my wings off :joystick:. Any ideas?
Oh and I play on a laptop..i know it sucks but been playing on it for months now and it just started about a week ago. :bhead

It's not a bug. GV icon range from the air was changed a long time ago, and if the GV is stopped, that range is reduced even more.

If you fly a storch (the observation plane) icons can be seen at 2.5k.

Roughly 600 yards for gv's when they are stopped.  Roughly 1200 yards when gv's are moving.  This is for all aircraft in AH, save for one: the Storch.

The Storch can see gv's while they are stopped at roughly 1200 yards.  The Storch can see gv's while they are moving at roughly 2400 yards.

Also, the icon of the Storch is only visible at 3000 yards to other aircraft.

I applaud HTC's decision to allow the Storch better abilities to spot gv's, AND to be hidden a wee bit longer from the Vegas style icon that lights up the sky.   :)
