Preliminary report of the Moore tornado being 2.25 miles wide. Tornadoes still on the ground in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas right now.

We used to go to the "midnight movies" in Moore. Good lord, that town gets slammed a lot. Surprised anyone even lives there anymore.

Moore has been hit in 1998,1999,2003,2010, and now 2013 by EF-4 to EF-5 tornados with the May 3rd 1999 being the most powerful ever recorded with winds at 318 mph. That storm redefined the Fujita scale to the Enhanced Fujita. Hence "EF". Todays tornado destruction is already being called worse than May 3rd 1999. No clue if any wind speeds were recorded today but it was 2 miles wide with the '99 being 1 mile wide. (width does not always equate to faster winds by the way)

It's nuts Brian.

Now there's a half mile wide tornado reported south west of Joplin right now.
