installing ah on new machine
« on: May 19, 2013, 10:03:16 PM »
thanks for the help found out that antivirus needed to be disabled to get the download to work, now for the story: i am going from running win xp 32bit on old celeron  machine/it fried/ to i5 win 7 professional on 64bit . been playing ah for long time and would like this to go easy, instead of starting from scratch with d/l and new install, can i copy my files from old hd to new hd via dvd disk or thumb drive,to save all my settings etc? is there a doc on the forums that addresses all of this/ if so i have yet to find it. thanks lsgs

you can only copy your settings, skins and sounds.   if I was you, I would reinstall the os again without Norton and use ms essential.

thats a start i am interested in keeping the settings for keyboard mapping mainly, i figured i would have to deal with issues of sound and joystick anyway under new machine settings, and if i can keep many of the d/loads i have already gotten since the game was up to date on my old machine before it fried
