As long as there is no GV "dar bar" I am against it. I am not thrilled by it even if there was a dar bar.
It gives an unwelcome advantage to attacking forces. Since we do not have a GV red bar in the clipboard, defenders are very slow to respond to ground attacks. There is just no was of knowing if 1 or 20 tanks are incoming. A handful of defenders can slow down a larger attacking force, but if the attacking force knows the exact number and pinpoint the position of the handful of defenders, they will be overwhelmed quickly - too quickly for the country to respond.
On the technical side, how will this remote spawn work? The storch spawns on the ground between the trees? will it be able to take off without hitting them?
And then when you kill it, it immediately respawn? All it takes is a wirble to spawn with it, let the Storch sit on the ground or circle low above it and you got yourself a constant observation point, that it dangerous to shoot down by a low flying plane and futile since it will be up immediately - actually it will be back faster than a defender who was shot down by the wirble parked under it.
Do you realize you've just compared the attacker's ability to up a Storch vs the defender's ability to use "God's Eye View", and at minimum a Storch, and in the case of an airbase an entire roster full of fighters??? The Storch is going to give the attackers no more of an advantage than it already has. It isn't like the Storch can go anywhere near a town or field thanks to auto ack.
As far as dar-bars go, an aircraft gives a signature when it goes above 250ft over the local terrain. I'm not seeing how the Storch showng a dar-bar is going to give the attackers (or defenders) an advantage since once gv's are within 6000 yards (or so) of a town or field it flashes anyway.
If you spawn a Storch to a far away point, it is a gamble you take as far as where it sits upon spawning. Most players are able to use the throttle, individual brakes, and some rudder to turn the Storch on a dime, not to mention getting it in the air in a very tight space.
I still say it would add an entire new dimension in AH, one that would not unbalance anything. HTC could very easily test this out and then if there is some big "outcry" or it proves to give the attackers some major advantage then they can disable it.
