We have a lot of aeroplanes...
« on: May 29, 2013, 08:43:13 AM »
Many new ones lately also.  They are nice, but, imho, we have plenty of choices on what to fly. :aok

My wish is that existing frequently flown aircraft be improved further.  Create an even more realistic look and feel to them.  Also, maybe improve the often rather repetitive terrain and water graphics.

Improving, for example, the Spitfire MK VIII would be :x

 :headscratch:

My wish is for no more new aeroplanes, and instead better existing ones. :old:

Kind of an anti-wish, I suppose. :headscratch:

That is my wish. :)

The spits are fine for the moment. I think they should update airframes that are still aren't even 2nd gen yet I.E.
Yaks, 110, b26, a20's, tempest, 163, tbm, B5N, and the D3A to name a few

but +1 for first generation update

Way too many gaps in the mid and early war period to stop adding altogether.  I could make due with more improvements to existing aircraft than new additions, but the additions need to keep coming, imo.

curious as to what you're referring to with that statement...

what are you looking for, dolphins and unicorns? if you have enough time to pay attention to the terrain flashing by under an airplane, you're not doing something right.

I forgot the name of the other combat sims, but some look very real, and yes, I do spend a lot of time looking around when finding a fight.  :aok

I actually agree with this...on climbouts to fights (even though I only go up to 8-10K tops) I get bored as hell... updating the graphics (but making it optional so people with not-so-good PC's can still play) would be awesome. Hell when I played War Thunder I had absolutely no idea what I was doing for the first day, I just flew around NOE the entire first few days I played looking at/admiring the graphics :rofl

turn up your graphics settings including shadows...

here's the thing, unless you really enjoy having a 500 square mile map to fly around with only 50 players in it, the more "realistic eye candy" that is put in place, the heavier the load on the system and the fewer people there will be who can afford computers that can handle the graphics, especially with 300+ people on the same map.

My wish list...

1. P61
2. Fw-190A3
3. Raiden/Jack (forgot the nomenclature)
4. D.501
5. Whirlybird thing from our British kin
6. SB2C
7. A26
8. He162
9. F7F
10. ???

I'm fickle though. One day this is my list. It will sort out differently next week. I believe the F7F could count, it did see squad strength before the end of the way. He162 I think as well. Both of these may be excluded from any list though.

nice list Boo... but do you really want to include an airplane that was being ferried to the theater of operations days before the war ended and never saw any action?

Are you making a list out of wishlist posts?  ;) Don't overwhelm ... even if they'd all be awesome.

Which bird are you referencing?

The only two I wonder about on my list are the F7F and He162. On the F7F I've read both, they did not see combat and that they did. Not sure which is accurate though if they have, and I think all accounts show they were in Marine squads as early as 1944, it would be a candidate.

As for the He162, certainly flown in hostile air space though not sure if it actually meets the other requirements.
