mission leaders and +perks
« on: June 02, 2013, 05:32:00 PM »
In Fso there have been several scenario's with a ace pilot that's worth More than any three pilots. I think if you shot down a well protected mission leader in the ma his ac should be worth 3 times the perk points to the pilot that shot him down.

pilots don't have perk values...not sure if it would be a good idea for them to have any perk value.

and yet the pilot doesn't add anything to the perk value of the plane...because he doesn't have any perk value.

can you imagine the anarchy such a thing would cause?

It'd be cool if he did, though. Let's say you got 10% of a pilot's accumulated perks
if you shoot him down. That would reward you for shooting down a more skilled
pilot (or a shadow account vulcher, whichever) - mishun leeder be damned.  :D

:headscratch:  i wonder if the ho, pick, ram ratio would increase if it was to happen...

It can increase? Doesn't bother me, really. Takes two to ho, usually,
and I'm pretty good at dodging them. If I keep my SA up then I'm
usually pretty good at frustrating pickers, as well (though a furball
will make that harder). And it's hard for others to ram me if I can
stay glued to their six, like I'm supposed to. If I can't, well the ram
is just one of many ways they can knock me outa the air.  :D

But I wasn't serious about the perk thing. I can imagine the brave
Brewster rider who lost 50 perks out of his 500 to a ram, pick, ho
or vulch.  :O

My thought was that they are so well protected and when in a large mission group its hard to pick the leader out any way. Should be worth extra points if your lucky enough to shot the leader of the group down. Might also motivate more to up against large missions. As far as the ram ho thing goes well its been my experience that the mission followers will do anything to down you and keep you off their troops.

I'm not sure why you presume that 'they are so well protected' unless you're in a squad that likes to 'protect mission leaders.'
Besides, how do you recommend the game be coded for this? It doesn't know who the 'mission leader' is. It may know who
submitted the mission. But the 'protected leader' is another thing entirely.

It would be kinda difficult to pick out a "leader" if they didn't cooperate and fly out in front.  Bang!  nope, not that one, bang..not him either..
Boom!  Maybe..tough to say.  :D
