I hate high altitude vulcher's  more than anything.  It is like being shot in the back in an old western.  It upsets my ethical balance as well irritates me to no end I got caught with my pants down.

Yes, I caught you sleeping at the stick once and read your irate commentary on 200.  Which I ignored.

There aren't a lot of things that bother me in came, yes there are those moments when I call BS on something, but that usually passes in about 5 minutes or so.

There are only two things that actually bug me in game:

1) Shooting planes that are landing. This is a sign that you clearly have no skill to engage an enemy in a fight so you resort to killing him while he is at his most vulnerable. I will shoot at a landing plane only under certain circumstances. The most profound being a non-perked buff landing, I will often shoot the drones but leave the lead aircraft. All of the other situations are circumstantial so I'm not going to bother covering them.

Also, I consider vulching a viable tactic so it is not included.

2) This bugs me more than number 1, but happens less often. Towering in a perked tank at the first sign of danger. If you come out in a perked tank for a battle, don't sit on the pavement and tower as soon as I turret you, or as soon as you hear a bomb coming in. YOU knew the risks when you chose to drive your tank out, you should face the consequence of your actions.

If I had my way, number two would be fixed by implementing a better combat system for tanks.

a) A tower time limit. hitting End Sortie or .ef will cause a 5 second delay before you are actually towered.

b) If an enemy tank shoots you, he has engaged you. You MUST kill him (or have someone else kill him) in order to tower. If you tower while he is still alive, it counts as a death even if you are stopped on tarmac and the kill is given to the enemy who engaged you (if multiples engaged then it falls back to the default system).
Ill vulch you landing and smack you silly in a turn fight. So you are wrong there. And Ill also tower out on a pad just to see you come to the boards and cry like a little......girl.

I understand the OP's feelings, he does have a point regarding the system for using tanks, it is flawed to a certain degree.  There is a reason King Tigers (or other perk tanks) are not see %95 but sitting on top of concrete defending.  If there was a concrete pad out at the gv spawn point we'd see more of them being used in the field.

His ideas are not all that far fetched, really.

The getting vulched on landing is part of the game.  Yeah, it is cheap but we've all done it and we've all had it done to us.

As soon as you leave the tower in the mains, you are target the entire time until you end sortie.  Kill em all and let HTC sort it out. :aok

it owes to the way the spawns work....nearly ALL the spawns go directly to SOME base, so in orderto participate in a tank battle, you have to either spawn to a base, and ultimately battle Tiger2's sitting on the concrete, 'defending' their bases, else stare at the map, waiting for a base to flash, sans darbar, and see what's there. Spawns which meet in the middle of no where are the stuff of which our Kursk re-enactments are made

Well then don't land at of hot field and if you are obviously your situation awareness sucks.

First, I am guilty of all of theses offenses. I love driving a Wirble, Ostie, or tank with HE to an enemy field to shoot planes landing and taking off. I get pissed when they bomb me LOL, but if ords are not down it is my fault for getting near an airfield. I also kill Heavy tanks on a regular basis because I have learned you have to find a position to hide where your shot hits them in the flank. They blow up. Sometimes it takes patience to find the right location.

No easy solution for HTC for sure. But in the meantime there are a few things you could do to avoid frustrating situations. If you are landing a bomber or fighter and still have fuel------>,land at a non-flashing field, preferably one with radar still up. You will have better odds for a successful landing.

As far as the highly perked tanks------->find a good spot where you are close enough and have cover. After you kill a couple, they come out in a cheaper tank (every time). :) There is a link on the main web page for player stats. You can see how many perked tanks you have killed. It is a challenge, but that is part of the fun.

Good luck.
