You'd think that once they were sentenced to death, it be but a simple matter to take them out back and shoot them in the head...but NOOOO. :bhead  Honestly, the prison system is a load of crap.

Ye get jail time, ye slave labor.  Collars + explosives will solve your escaping issue.  Don't work, don't eat.  After x amount of time of no working, execution (for those clever types).

They want to give prisoners in the UK the right to vote.

Never understood that scene where they say he was suffering from mental issues when he committed the crime, all criminals are mental :old:

I live in NE Ohio I have to give kudos to the state of Texas.  Seems they have the highest rate of common sense in the US.

That creep would have been gone years ago if he were convicted in Texas.  Also recently the State Govt. has made it legal to say

"Merry Christmas", "Happy Hanukkah", and any other salute to a religious holiday no matter what the religion.  WTG Texas!

Unfortunetly the cops showed up on time to east L.A. Other wise the mob wouldve handled the situation.

I just want to know why the process takes so long. They should bring back firing squads and old sparky. Oh but wait, prisoners have rights :bhead

Lethal injection is being called "inhumane" now. Oh the world is a fickle place

Im sure they get it wrong now and then (Im not sure where or really what bailey's list is), but even going by that list what percentage is that of those that were truly guilty? On top of that if "criminals" KNOW that if they get the death sentence it WILL be carried out in less than a week, how much would that help them think twice?

As it is now they have a good chance of getting away with most stuff, and if caught, they spend time at a "country club" called a prison for a few years and released early to make room for the next round of bozo's that come along.

Texas has sent more innocent people to death row than any other state.  In some cases the guilty party is obvious for example oj. In others the innocent go to jail for decades.

hahahah...you obviously have never been to a Texas prison....(or any prison in general;-)........I haven't been to a Texas prison.... but I know I few that have....."country club" is a very bad description......

a much better description would be "Gladiator School"  :aok

Not at all, per repeated studies.  Humans are very bad at risk assessment and one of the first things a criminal thinks going into a planned crime is that he won't be caught.  If he doesn't think he is going to be caught it doesn't matter if punishment would take a week or a decade as he doesn't think he'll be subjected to any punishment at all.

Heat of the moment crimes are even less affected as nothing beyond the need to lash out NOW is driving the perp.
