Ardo Kills
« on: June 11, 2013, 03:13:19 AM »
It is not uncommon in the MA that Ardo comes back with several kills...

Question: HOW?

- Does it mostly come from GV hunting? Is it dive bombing or level GV bombing?
- Does it come from rear 20mm canon against fighters that are not aware?
- Does it maneuver kill of unlucky fighters that dived too hard?

Actually after getting some statistics:

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/newscores/pkd.php?sortby=1&selectTour=LWTour160&pindex=39&type=0

I can see that most of the kills are of GV, what I can't understand is how they kill Lancaster (9 kills) or C-47 (5 kills)

Also lots of fighters including 5 262 and 3 163

A lot of fighters are actually killed by the rear guns. Due to the Arados speed, it's easy to suddenly end up behind it in a stream of cannon fire.

No, but the Arado can chase the Lancaster. And zoom guns blazing through the non-maneuvering Lanc formation.
I vividly remembering a single Arado hunting and trying to shoot down my B-29's a few months ago :)

There have been a few thru the years who have mastered the art of shooting down other airplanes in this thing. Dont ask me how, I still shake trying to land it.

I actually love that airplane...

Recently being back to AH waiting for get enough bomber perk-points to get this great bird to the air.

I found rear guns are nice to scare 163s from behind so they have to reorganize each time till they out of fuel.

However it still seems to be bizzare to should backwards and to master it?!

Like most things, it's mostly a matter of stick time in it. A couple of hundred "furball" sorties in it and you should have a decent aim.

Not that I ever got there ;)   In ~8 years of playing AH, I only got a single A2A kill in it, a Me 262. But I lost 20 fighters to Arados over the years :)

Lancaster bails out when he hears a jet approaching. 3 kills.

Lancaster and friendly fighter kill each other. Fighter dies instantly and lanc pilot gets the kill, then he crash/bailout and Arado gets the proxy kill, or if lanc pilot is too late to bail out the drones explode as well and arado gets 3 kills.

I have killed B17s and Lancs with an ardo, great fun setting up the shoots and you have to get in front or zoom pass with your tail pointing to where they will be.

I forget, who was that player that was always landing kills in that thing? I know I flew with him, his kills were Not proxies.

Great airplane. For myself I love taking out a VH at 10,000', hitting the RATOs, and sticking a certain finger out at all the B&Z'ers trying to get me. :D I think it was my funnest perk plane.

The earlier version was unique..you could actually move your head about in cockpit to the point you looked throu the 'periscope'..and lo and behold..you could see behind with a simple black cross-hair that was sight for rear guns. Was a great feature..
