I'm hoping that HiTech goes with adding sub's before doing fps.  But from what I can see, it's looking like the other way around. :(

-1 FPS.

I certainly want the drunk roles expanded but I don't recommend introducing a format
where half our players are hiding on the map as infantrymen (at least the first month
that particular patch comes out). What with all the complaints of not being able to find
a good fight in the air already, that would just be the path toward AHII merely trying to
be a different game (like WWII online or something). Same goes for submarines. Sub
sims, by their very nature, are time intensive patrols and the best ones already exist
(with very intensive graphic engines). It would be a waste of time for the programmer
and the player, imo.

don't listen to Arlo, someone has been dipping his donuts in cat litter...

subs could work, much like the current cv groups, take command, set them on a course, then go back to fighting the war. if someone is goofy enough to sit on the bridge of a sub scooting along under water at 10-20 knots, it's their dime. and just like the cv's, 1 spawned per port owned by each chess piece. then we would need active sonar on the ships and, sub hunting aircraft. a lot wannabe navy heroes will go

Guns? Sub's main weaponry is torps. It's main defense is hiding under water.
Besides, then HT would have to model asw platforms and weaponry. That's
a lot of time and effort to experiment on changing the scope of the game to
attract sub sim players.

Aces High is the best mp online WWII combat flight sim. Even with the current
ground and sea elements, I don't see the wisdom in attempting to change the
scope of the game to work on a mediocre naval element.

U.S. fleet boats - 10 knots tops submerged, up to 20 surfaced.

Sub warfare in Aces High would take a lot of resources and time with little return, I suspect. We're talking about
attempting to attract sub sim players that are used to:

i'm not talking about it...just pointing out it wouldn't be the worst thing to come along, if htc wants to put the effort in, its their dime. won't find me in one of them except out of curiosity.

Hell, he could just model a random periscope in the water that spawns torps .... but that's
not modeling subs (which I think would be boring in AHII - action in this game is faster
than sub sims). The hard part would be that all sorts of asw platforms and weapon systems
would have to be added, as well. That's a lot of submarine sim work for a dogfight game.
How many planes could be modeled instead?  :)

Eh, just sayin'.

I wonder if the forums for that submarine game have wishlist where people are always asking for multiplayer flight sim to be added to their game?
