I complain about my job a lot (the guys on vox tend to get an ear full), but sometimes my suffering is greatly rewarded. Being a cashier, I handle a LOT of money in one day. Far more than I care to count, but every now and then I am rewarded with a rare gem like the 1897 Indian head penny that ended up in my till the other day. I swapped it out with a penny that I had from lunch and took it home to get a better look. In its current condition it's only worth about $0.50 (still better than the $0.01 it was being used for). If it were in perfect condition it would be worth between $25 and $30.

This isn't the first time I've found an odd or rare coin in my cash till. I like to collect old and rare coins and money, and my bosses are okay with me keeping the coins and bills as long as I am putting the same amount of cash back in to keep the cash total where it's supposed to be.
To date I have an old $100 bill, an old $50, an old $5, a few $2 bills, a gold quarter (already shared in another thread) and the Indian head penny.
