Update the Yaks, add the -7 and -3 variants, and add some additional Soviet fighters...

...namely, the LaGG-3 and MiG-3.

I always had an interest flying the LaGG-3, flying IL-2 I thought it was a pretty awesome aircraft until I realized the 109E pretty much outclassed it in every way. However the armament really made up my mind, two 50 cals and a 20mm is the same what our Yak has, however given some of the other armament packages of soviet fighters (Mig-3) I felt my aim sucked enough I much rather have the 20mm.
Mig-3 is going to be terribly underarmed, one 12.7 and two light machine guns, however it did have the option of twin 12.7s in gunpods - however flying any other aircraft with gunpods, its going to do "ok" against bombers, but meat for fighters.

Either way I will like the challenge of flying it, what i wouldn't give for a twin 20mm version of the Yak-9.

The LaGG-3 would be added mostly for EW purposes, as it was not exactly a very good performer. Speaking of EW, the Yak-1 should be added as well.

As for the MiG-3, it's another EW addition, but the main draw is its high altitude performance. It apparently had very good maneuverability, but a moderate climb rate. 398mph at altitude.

Updated engine by long margin, but given that's likely to never happen. An updated Yak and I might be able to find some time to return.

Save this for another thread but I have longed for HTC to add the Peashooter to the line up. I think it was a P-36?

P-26.  But the P-36 would be nice, too.

It is crap for gaming. But I am selling my house, so I intend to invest in a new PC when I buy my next place. It just isn't a priority.

Either way, I can only imagine how good I will be with a frame rate of 60 or more. I'm already the best with a frame rate of 4-7!

I'll give you this grayclif. I can't stand to fly with that low of FPS. Everything is set to the lowest setting and I stay about 22-33. Soon as more than 20 guys are by me 10. Add in alll those dropping bombs...0.

I envy your patience. I refuse to fly with any less than ~60.

you guys really don't believe the game would be playable with a frame rate of 4-7 do you? :rofl

it would be stop motion and completely unplayable.

It totally IS playable with 4-7fpm! It's all I've known for 4 years. Prior to that I had an old modified Gateway with a Gforce3 and it ran 60fpm.

Last night I lowered object detail to the bare min, and horizon distance to 0.5. That gave me 15-27 fpm at best. It's been like Christmas ever since.
