why its not an attack platform for the most part its main duty is level bombing you don't see people flying it like a fighter in AH anyways (unless yer crazy like me  :D ) I see no reason to make score as an attack aircraft its defiantly not an A20 by any stretch

BUT.......................Big +1 to update along with A26 now that would be worthy of an Attack aircraft hehe

It's great at CAP for tanks, but it handles rough. Ju88 is better in this regard(hand has a bigger payload)

The main duty of the A-20 and A-26 was also level bombing.  "Flying it like a fighter" isn't what made the A-20 or the A-26 an 'attack' plane.

the a20 does not have a bombsite ackack so how could it level bomb effectively??
I've had heard of an A26 variant with a bombsite but that would be like our B26 already
and the flying it like a fighter was what from I observed in AH

there was a glass nosed a26 with a bombsite. it's intented use was to be lead bomber group element to help get the other a26s on target for a level bomb drop. the b26 filled that role until the glass nosed a26s were produced in sufficient numbers to take over.

I'm sure they had glass nosed A20's as bomber leaders.

Some A-20's (A-20C, A-20J and A-20J/K) were produced with the glass nose so the planes could act as lead ship for level bombing missions.

The A-26C were also produced with the glass nose and used in the same role as a lead ship like the A-20C/J/K

Again, "flying like a fighter" is not what makes an attack aircraft like the A-20 or A-26 an attack aircraft.

no. Attack aircraft have the option to take off without ords. Where bombers have to up with ords. That's why when ords are perked oy certian bombers can take off.

Also, A-20s in the Pacific, certainly after 1942, were generally used in anti-shipping and airfield suppression roles.  These were low-level missions where the pilot controlled the bomb drop.

- oldman (BTW:  How many A-20s were actually used in ETO?  I'd always thought of it as a Pacific plane.)
