This is interesting. I bought the pics of my town - Chatham - which is much the same! Rochester aerodrome and the Shorts factory were bombed.

that is a very cool find Baggy! 

Portsmouth , portchester castle and gosport all look un-populated!     Paulsgrove must have not existed in 1940 !

The area of Walderslade I'm in now was woodland then, but the road I lived in as a kid is on the photo, we used to play in the bomb craters in the woods and one of them was the local dump - a blue Austin A30 van was in the middle of it!
