Sequestration
« on: June 27, 2013, 05:34:17 AM »
Why it means to me (and Mrs Ammo).

1. A reduction in salary of $992 per month for me.

2. A reduction in salary of $769 per month for the house commander.

3. A loss of 16 hours of paid leave for me (same for the house CiC).

4. Realization that the hard work I do for the DoD is not appreciated by my senior leadership.

5. I am but a pawn (bargaining tool) to be used in bipartisan political differences.

Very frustrated right now, and it grows daily when I read where the government decides to spend our taxes.  For example, GEN Odierno has stated there is no desire by the Army to employ previously planned upgrades for the Abrams platform that will cost in the billions, yet the DoD, feeling pressure from the two states where the upgrades are developed, still pursue the program.

I won't even go into the rediculous amount of tax dollars are spent on social programs that are discretionary in nature.  Not should I bring up the figure I read about recently that the POTUS birthday party will cost.  So on that note, I won't bring up why the POTUS frequent vacations are costing us.

Hipocracy at its best.
