AH2 added the small hills, trees and such that AH1 didn't have.  Since then reflections, specular mapping, shadows and bump mapping have been added.  Per HiTech the current engine is fully capable of any level of graphics they want to do.

What I would like to see is a much higher polygon count terrain map which would dispense with the need for the small, repetitive hillocks that are pasted onto the current low resolution terrain maps in order to give the tanks something other than large, flat, treed planes to fight on.  The problem with that is that it would immediately remove all current maps unless the old maps could be loaded in the new version.  The old maps would still look just as they do now though.

Nice pyramid hill tops in that screenshot.   :lol

As I said, I'd like to see higher resolution mesh on the terrain myself aswell. Doesn't make your posts to be any less nonsense, though.

And even with two screen shots you still have straight angles and pyramids for terrain not to mention the ever present clear blue skies. So if there any nonsense it's your screenshots trying to prove otherwise.

The clear blue skies are falling. The clear blue skies are falling to the pointy ground.  :D

You seem to lack reading comprehension, all I've ever said is I'd like to see higher resolution terrain mesh. I proved that AH has had several engines and therefore proved your nonsense wrong.

No point trying to communicate with you any further.

Gixer is 100% WRONG, Even his claim of vertex resolution is incorrect. Ah Actually runs 4 times many vertexes as the elevations you see. I.E. I don't even have to change the density to increase the smoothness.  The reason this has not happened, is because on computers running detailed terrain, I.E. most, changing the elevations would have almost no impact.

But the systems that could not run detail terrain  just display the vertexes with elevation, and changing them would have a huge impact.

Now since we are on online game, people cans see different colors but they must all see the same elevations.

As to having to update terrains. The existing ones would not have to be changed but would look smother simply by using
Spline interpolation.

New ones could be set as the designer wished.

Whether one likes the addition of this vehicle or not, tank destroyers were prevalent in the war and thus in a game where there is a ground vehicle aspect, well they need to be included.
They're casting their bait over there, see?

Never-the-less, there is a forgotten ground vehicle, still:
