CV Group Commander Options
« on: July 09, 2013, 04:38:48 AM »
We Need to have CV Group Commander Options such as these.

Time Limit on when a player takes command of a CV
10 mins would be reasonable on this,
after the 10 mins, the CV releases itself back to uncommanded state.

while group commander has control of the ship.
He can disable flight off of that ship, no LVTs no PTs or anyone.

Now if there is a higher up that takes command of the CV and releases it and it goes back to people upping and stuff, then they can work it out.

However once the Acting Commander (admiral) or whatever they want to call themselves at the time leaves command releases command, then all states reset to normal just like they were before.

This will keep greenies, and other people from ruining a perfeclty good CV mission that is waiting to launch.

That mission you want to launch? Sorry, I think not!  Oh you want to defend the CV? Nah, I don't think so.

This would do nothing but give more problems.  Someone of lower rank plans a mission and sets the path. Someone of higher rank takes control and that wipes the recently set path and the lower rank mission planner can't do anything about it. Except beg and plead for either a higher rank to take control, or for the new "admiral" to let them launch. Which isn't guarenteed, because you have given the "admiral" the ability to say "Yes or No" to take offs!

See how this could go really bad, really fast?   :uhoh

My 2 cents

so much grief over control of a toon ship...

while group commander has control of the ship.
He can disable flight off of that ship, no LVTs no PTs or anyone.
not that the list of ideas has any merit but...that one is particularly silly.

What about an older wish to be able to take control of a destroyer separate from the fleet.
