what a night.
« on: July 10, 2013, 07:21:27 AM »
well not as some might think, I didn't score a billion in a bomber, or go on a killing streak, I had a corner of the map 1v1 session with dags, and ill tell you, it was hair raising heart pumping fun, we were passing by each others planes so close you could see the others eyes, trading shots back and forth, the advantage would even shift back and forth. What added to the experience was PM'ing back and forth after an engagement and talking about what we did and what we saw, made the fights progress in toughness to the point it was 5-7min stalemates with  rolling scissors that I didn't think anyone would come out on top. <S> to dags for a great experience in AH.

That's worth more than any billion streaks etc.  That's what you sit in front of a computer and pay 15$ for..  That and friends you will/ought to make if you keep coming back for more, is what'll keep you hooked for years.  Some of us have been at it for... what, 2 decades now?  Whether you get it one way or another - 1v1 or playing the strat chess game, etc.

That little need for your stick & rudder fix may stay with you the rest of your life.

Dags is a great guy and one hell of a fun fight. Next time, you two should get on coms together and talk while fighting. It's a real plus.

Invite people to duel you over 200. Once in a while you'll get a taker and it's always fun, regardless of skill difference. I've taught and have been taught, it's a shame that I usually never get an answer when I ask.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Dags is a top notch guy and until recently he flew with a mouse. Apparently he likes his new toy :) I am thrilled to have him as a squaddie.

I don't think dags reads the Bbs, so I'll relay the <S> when I see him in game.  :salute

Last night I had one of the best fights i've had in a long time. I was in a 47/D11 and ArchieD was in a Yak and somebody else ina F4U with Archie. I held them off as long I could, twisting and turning in a close fast knife fight. Finally Archie got me. Had another great fight after that with a guy named Bluecoat. If flying P47/D11s produces fights like that on a regular basis, I'll be in one more often.  :aok

JUGS always attract attention with the aggressor thinking it's an easy kill.  The 11 and the M are the only ones I fly in fighter mode, the M for bomber intercept and the 11 for furballing.  Yes I always go down because I never extend or retreat, but the fights are intense and very fun.

I haven't flown the 11 bunches...don't really like the cockpit views, but it's starting to grow on me. I think it handles real well with most other planes in close quarters. And with 8 .50 cals all you really need is 1 clear shot and the bad guy is toast.
