they're wearing soup bowls...note the extended rim for placing bread so it doesn't rest in the soup.  :D

Very keen observation. So the Brits built a dual-use head gear. One, to keep the sun out of their eyes. Two, soup bowl with bread supporting extension. I suppose a third, they used a tougher material so even some noob from the South of London or Wales will struggle to break the soup bowl/head gear.

All makes spectacular sense to me.

Didn't the limeys also pee and potty in those hats - almost looks like a toilet bowl!

And then they had hot steamy soup!

At least they evolved past those helmets shortly after.

That helmet was designed to protect the soldier's head and shoulders from shrapnel bursting over the trenches in WWI. It could stop a  .45 ACP fired from 10 feet away, or a Daimler Benz engine dropped from 16,000 feet say

109 is so tiny.

I'm glad to see that this thread didn't immediately devolve into an Axis vs Allied pee party because of a pic and appropriate player captioning of such.  :)

what makes you think these are AmericaL's?   And not Brits using an American rifle?  The insignias? The Chevrons?  The flags?   The boots?
