During 1997, I friend showed me Air Warrior.  I picked "hap" because it's one syllable.  Had the name ever since albeit with a few variation here and there.

Mine is a reference to a book character, Heinrich Jager.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Long ago, on the largest moon of the planet Neptune, there was a meeting of the supreme Triton council.  Weeks of deliberation concluded that all Triton's should be differentiated numerically.  A game of Twister was commenced to decide who would have the lowest number.  Triton1 was the victor.  I came in a dismal 28th.   :cry

My last name is Schenher, while overseas a Warrant that I worked for and greatly admired started calling me schen after one op and it stuck, I admired him because of his leadership style he earned his respect not expected it, was fair and tough, I was proud to have served with him. now its a nickname more then anything and what I choose as my handle.

Well since my dad and I have always shared an account we had to agree on a call sign. We have a '89 challenger ski boat with the name Barefoot running along the side. So for the last 12 years I've been bfoot1

I chose Zoney because it is a nickname given to people from Arizona visiting San Diego which is our popular vacation spot.

I played with that name for 20 years.

Then, I wanted a change and wanted to make a commitment to JG11 and Luftwaffe pilots.  I wanted to also make the commitment to Luftwaffe aircraft exclusively.  So I chose Hartmann, the greatest ace the world has ever seen with over 350 kills, and a survivor of WWII.  Frankly I was shocked when I typed in "Hartmann" checking for available names and it was there.  Grabbed it, shoved it inside my jacket and ran from the store.

I was Umbra8 when I first started flying AH, inspired by a book I had read recently

But after my first week or so, being on ventrilo with squaddies etc, it just seemed weird being called 'Umbra' and not what I have used in every other computer game and what has been my real life nickname for years and years

so...coombzy    (my last name is Coombes irl)

Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.
