Internet all screwy
« on: July 16, 2013, 03:20:53 AM »
Hi all

The last three days my connection has been horrible.  Many disco's and checking my ping today I am getting consistent 1000ms spikes.  I live in Australia but typically get a rock steady 250 and have done for years.

I did a trace route which showed an average of 237ms to the Late War Arena IP.

How can I check where the problem is?

Did a trace back to you and it did not look too bad.  However, there was a slight issue at the Telstra gateway to the U.S.  I am getting around 250ms, pretty steady on the trace.  Should be around 190ms, so the issue at the gateway may be a contributing factor.

Not seeing any real spikes though.

It's the "Coriolis Effect".

Just out of curiosity, what tool do you use to do your traces?
