rudder problem

My new ch pro rudder pedals will not work on left side of plane.  Checked in map controllers and it shows it moving both sides.

This is new ch pro pedals, old ones started doing same thing plus it shook from side to side no matter which way I moved it, and they where several years old, so I got the new ones.

tried moving usb plug to new location  same result.

need help from some one knowledgeable please.

Also rudder pedals wont control left and right brakes on GV like they used to. even though it shows movement in set up contollers.

Please, ne1  have any ideas.

Did you make sure you had not assigned a signal in the Min-mid-max section?

I assume you have tried calibration and removing any scaling in the "Advanced section."

You might try offline disconnecting other USB connections and try the rudder by itself to see if you have a USB power problem

Have you checked to see which mode you are setting?  Mode one is what always comes up.

nothing in min-mid-max

have box checked to auto select mode 1 or 2    -      although it doesn't auto select for some reason.

in map controllers it shows movement both ways on rudder when I move the pedals  but nothing happens when actually in vehicle  and nothing on the left side when in plane.

 Try manually selecting mode 2,you may need to map a button or key to select modes.

  Do you have a powered USB hub?  you may not be getting proper power to your equipment.

  If you goto map controls,select rudder and check advanced box you'll see the raw and scaled windows,when you move rudder pedals does the red line in raw go all the way from top to bottom and then center again?  Also if you look at the numbers on the axis in map controls do they change from 653xx to 0 and then go back to 335xx as the center.

 the numbers are approx. as I don't recall the exact figures.

  If you\re still having issues I should be in the TA this evening after 9 pm eastern,maybe I can walk you through a few things to see if it cant be sorted out.

GVs are mode 2 so you have to set up the pedals there too.

Even though you are in a GV and go to controller setup, you have to select "Mode 2" on the setup screen as it always defaults to mode 1 setup.

I suggest plugging them into a powered USB hub, then check mapping, and recalibrate.

I've had problems in the past with sticks and pedals not working properly when plugged into motherboard USB -- where they used to work, then months later stopped working well.  I suspect that the motherboard USB circuitry didn't have good enough power transistors and eventually (being pushed to their limit) started to become erratic.  Sticks and pedals might take a lot more power than most USB devices.

The effect I described wasn't for only the rudders or only the stick, but both, and it definitely wasn't a mapping or calibration problem.  What I was experiencing was spiky/noisy signal from the devices -- the axes and range of signal were all correct.  The spikiness/noise went away upon using a powered hub.  I tried the hub based on other people reporting these issues and saying the powered hub resolved it and based on my suspicion that it could be wimpy power transistors starting to flake out.

Not you Brooke, the OP.  By his description, it doesn't sound like he assigned the rudder or toe brake axis to his pedals.
