Semp,
To put this nicer, I know exactly what I want in this request, and worded it exactly without ambiguity.
It seems you think you found an ambiguity in the factor of time.
I did NOT say I expected the plane to go FOREVER with an unchanged flight path.
Why you would assume that, is only making an arse out of yourself, not of me.

Hitech,
I'm glad you stopped by in this thread, at least you can make your decision about it.
There is another thread in wishlist also, about controlling the whole plane from the gunner station also.
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,350710.0.html
This current thread has a much simpler wish, just to disable, have it in options maybe like the "automatically put combat trim on" option. If you already saw it then ok, sorry for assuming you didn't.
Thanks for reading this stuff.  :salute
:airplane: Next time you get in the position you want the aircraft, press shift + X and then you can get in your guns without the aircraft automatically going to level auto-pilot when moving to a gun position. I do this all the time when climbing or descending, just to keep the old bird from going back to straight and level! Surprises many a pilot in here when descending!

ooohhhkkkaaay, what if you want to hold the plane in a turn?
shift-x still puts wings level!
Like I've been saying, go to 'off-line practice' then up a 111, catch up to the drones flying circles and try to shoot one down with front guns.
Another example, offline: flying a 410, line up under one of the turning bomber drones, then go to gun, fire! stationary target? NO! Yes would be if not for 'auto-level.'

Get the plane going on the correct vector / path such that you will have a nice stationary target (relative to you) to fire at.

The pedals thing to sway the nose helps, but its not enough, and still the nose bounces left and right too much anyways.
Doing damage to enemy plane requires damage, which requires AIM, which requires steady shot, which requires steady target relative to you!

I was just able to hold the he111 in a turn while being in the nose gunner position using both shift x and x.  using the right speed you can get behind a drone and cause  good damage.

as for having a steady target relative to you well, I sure hope hitech fixes that bug, for some reason those inconsiderate bastages keep turning their airplanes any which way.

:airplane: Didn't mention using shift + X in turns! The X key will always level the wings, but if you use Alt + X, that is auto pilot climb config and the attitude is predetermined by the speed input, either default or dot speed xxx. The shift key + X allows you to descend or climb in the attitude that YOU want, not what default says. The firing solutions are a lot harder in the decent attitude than in the climb, because of the difference in speed!

you can use rudders to turn the airplane at the same time.  that's what I did and was able to get some good hits on the drones.   this is more stable than not using any auto pilot.
