no engine sound in film viewer
« on: August 03, 2013, 01:10:11 PM »
Since the last patch (or maybe even since the new version), engine sounds work for all other planes except my own.

"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

I think it's been like that for a while. If you want the engine sound running in the film you will probably have to 'double-tap' e when the sortie starts, or trim the film to a later start time (this has brought the sound back before). If you stop the engine later on and then restart you will thereafter hear the engine running.

After reviewing a few different films, it seems to only happen after a film gets edited down in time.  The engine sound works in full length films.

Never encountered this issue before.  Tried hitting e, to no effect.

Mine is on all films & that includes non edited.
Now I could get the engine to start by double tapping E before the film starts. The moment I get into another aircraft & come back to mine I have no engine sound again.

Okay, what I was referring to is actually making sure that the engine start (hitting 'e') is recorded in the film, rather than be automatically started along with the film. For some reason that doesn't seem to get included in all cases. I messed around with camera shots once before and in order to get the sounds to be available I had to record the individual aircraft from the first instance of the film at least to the point that I wanted my clips to go to. Then I would edit the portions of the individual aircraft, or tank, from their own films.

If, I did like lyric just stated, then sounds would disappear.

And now I see what you are talking about. If I exit my aircraft to see someone else's view (in film viewer), then when I reenter my plane it has no engine. When it's up to speed all I get is the wind sound (which is not bad since it sounds like my glider, hehe).
