Do any of y'all have wives that crochet?
« on: August 04, 2013, 01:06:36 AM »
The link below details the Red Lions Project, in honor of 6 fallen Marines. Our goal: have 6 lambs crocheted (I have the pattern, and 4 are already being made - just need 2 more) before 1 September. We'll have the unit patch sewn onto each one, and sent to the parents who are seeing their Son's project continued. These will also be the first of "Lottie's Lambs" made in honor of my husband's Grandma, who made the lambs for her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren (including my own sons) and many many others in every community she was a part of.

I made a hanging pot plant holder when I was about 8. That's all the crochet experience I know of in my family.

Edit: not the hair parted in the middle type pot plant either   :devil
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

I parted my hair in the middle last week. Drank orange soda though - not grape soda. :)

Just out of curiosity: Why does it have to be our wives who'd do the crocheting? A few years ago crocheting a beanie was highly popular among young male snowboarders who wanted a unique woolly hat. I guess that fashion didn't get too popular in Texas, though...

Would it be wrong if I admitted to knowing 2 of the basic stitches?  Same with knitting.  :o

It was part of therapy for a hand injury........ :neener:

However Mom I couldn't participate in the project as I'm not competent enough.

:) I would welcome any men who are able to.  I too only know a few basic stitches.  I was lost reading the instructions.
