I still dont know what trim does, I read about it, people tried teaching me about it, but still dont understand it.  then again with my handicapped of having to visualize everybody or I wont understand it creates a bit of a handicap.

Bustr made this fine point in another thread:

"Years ago some of you guys would have invited that newbie to the DA to help him instead of repeatedly smacking him down or enjoying watching him repeatedly auger."

We've all had the experience, where we realize early in the fight that we're way ahead of the other guy.  I've tried different things over the years.  Usually I just break off and say something like "let's try that again!"  Then re-merge, sooner or later he augurs or he gets in a good shot.

So how do you others encourage the younger players?  What do you think are the best methods?

I tell them that if they really want to get good, there is this really nice guy that usually hangs out in the AvA arena named Oldman...

I used to tell them to copy my moves repeatedly. We would merge several times and I would tell them on vox what I was doing, when flaos came iut, when throtle was off, et bigtoeil they got a feel of the views and what was going on.  It really takes no time at all if one is interested in fighting. If they worry about getting killed it is a different story.

I didn't know that was an option.  I would like to object to Triton28 teaching anyone anything.  He gets fetch-it and come-here confused most of the time.

Call Dodger.  He has gotten his landing gear up nicely the last two nights...

No, no.  That was me before I read a book.  Now that I've read a book, not only can I understand basic commands, but I can teach pwnage as well.   :joystick:

Thanks for the books, Bear.  That other one with the sticky pictures is kinda puzzling though.   :headscratch:

I'm thinking I'll hand my young, impressionable son off to learn the fine art of ACM toooo (drum roll please).....Midway.

Under Middy's tender care and guidance, both Triton and I should then be safe from my son for the foreseeable future.  Also, he will learn from a master how to talk smack on 200 that is so unconnected to reality it borders on the delusional!!!

I expect I'll be getting a visit from the Child Protection Agency any day now.....  :uhoh
