i like to give suggestions on how to stay alive before i give suggestions on how to kill. to me as a noob staying alive is the coolest thing. especially when your getting shot down all the time.

once they see they can avoid getting killed they build up some confidence and are able to understand a little better about ACM and SA.

i give them links to some cool sites to read about ACM and SA and also suggest books (for some with lots of illustrations)

this is a start. i am not a good fighter pilot so i also suggest getting some one on one time with a Trainer.

I introduce them to the "squelch" feature for people who talk incessantly on range. But seriously, I used to spend a lot of time in the TA working with squaddies and new players. Time constraints put a halt to that.

Yesterday, I logged in and as usual it put me at a field far away from the action.  I was about to jump to a different field when I heard and engine start and a player rolling down the runway.  I was thinking "Maybe it's a buffer going on a run", and figured I could escort him.  It was a fighter and a player I had never seen.  He gets wheels up and then crashes.  I do a quick score check on him and it was obvious he was struggling so I sent a PM to him, "Would you like some help?".  He replied, "lol, yes I do".  So I invite him into the TA and let him follow me around shooting me.  Now, I'm not a trainer and really am kinda lost on how to help him much so this is basically all I had for him.  If nothing else he got a better idea on E management and gunnery.  I decided to help him out after reading this thread.  This is a tough game, we who play here should keep that in mind and remember how lost we all were when we first started.

So how do you others encourage the younger players?
I met a young lad 2 years ago. He was new in AH but he was beating me again and again.  :ahand   Hes RedBull.

Otherwise, what he was doing? Whats his biggest problem? Initialize that, tell him what you would do in the same situation, show him a film about a simmilar fight, what that opponent was doing to beat you.

I m not welcomed there. I am bad  :old:

Since when Ded?   You are more than welcome to come into the TA anytime you would like. I usually spend most week nights in there helping with everything from initial setup to my limited knowledge of ACM.

Ded,plz feel free to come to the TA and help out anytime!
