With the amount of meltdown going on in the WT forums now would be a good time for it.   All the "simmer"  types say they're waiting for Il2 Stalingrad to come out.

I'm surprised no one has said it yet:

We are currently playing "Aces High III".  Hitech Creations upgraded to the new version over 2 years ago, yes?

Nobody said it, becasue we are still on 2.x

the number is just a number.  but the new version came out when we had that big test arena a few years back.  lots of graphics were redone including water modelling and some other crap.

The difference between AH1 and AH2 was significantly different in comparison to what you are talking about. I think that's why we're still in AH2.xx.

there was also a new damage model added, new graphics, new planes.  not sure what else you need to make it a new version.
