Stock GT500 Super Snakes have about 660 Horsepower while ZL1/ZR1's have about 580-630.

Ford is pretty much beating the crap out of the competition these days.

Too bad Dodge fell way behind. The new Chargers/Challengers suck it harder than the Camaro and Corvette.

 :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

some days its just fun to come to the intardwebs and read the stupids.

16 grand for 600hp? :rofl Give me 16k and I'll build you a motor with 600 horses and pocket 8 grand. A fool and his money........................ ......

That's probably what Hennessy is doing, and if he is its a damn good way to make money.

the camaros and corvettes don't suck. not by a long shot. the camaro is a very respectable car, that i feel chevy dropped the ball on, as they're EASILY capable of making it sooooo much better. but as they are, they are still VERY impressive, VERY good cars.
the corvettes.....those are still in a class of their own......

I never said the Camaro/Corvette suck. I just said Dodge is failing much harder than Chevy.

Of course i'm a Ford/Chevy guy so I gotta have some bias towards those two brands.  :D

ORLY?

To say "suck it harder" you're implying the Camaro and Corvette suck, but the dodge sucks more.

Look up some lap times for your Stangs. Try the C&D Lightning Lap at VIR. See what your 'lil Ponies are actually doing on a road course.

Massive HP gives the Mustangs an edge over the Camaro in a straight line. Put them on the race track and the pony is a pig, even the GT350 (maybe the GT500, I don't remember) only held off the ZL1 Camaro for a couple laps, then the Camaro started to reel it in. If it were even a 30 minute sprint race the Ford would be lapped.

Don't even mention Mustang and Corvette in the same sentence, you'll look stupid...er.

Sprint races aren't circuits, Sir Genius.

You cant get "lapped" in a sprint.

I see that I got all the Chevy guys butthurt here, and I love it.

WTF is a circuit? A sprint race is generally a road course race less than an hour long. An endurance race is generally 1.5 hour or longer. At least all of the racing organizations I've raced with structure it that way. Pro series like World Challenge and Grand Am are the same.

And I've lapped plenty of cars 30 min in sprint races.

Go ahead and get a Silverado 2500 and do everything the guy did in the video, then go get your Duramax sponsored by multiple companies in rally races and then go get multiple TORC wins, just like the Raptor has.

I'll be waiting.

Oh wait.

lol all he did in a video was go around a few muddy corners and floor it. The dyno run wasn't even all that impressive. If I'm paying pretty much 70k I want truck that can put atleast 600 rwhp down. Paid 17k for my truck and put EFI live tuning with exhaust and lift pump and I'm putting down ~470 rwhp and ~850tq. THats with stock turbo, tranny, intake, and engine components.

  My 2 cents on diesels......

GM dealer mechanic so I'm somewhat biased going in. That said GM's Duramax is indeed mostly designed by Isuzu in partnership with GM. It is the quietest smoothest diesel I've encountered and there is special programming for emergency vehicles to squeeze out even more performance. Mated with an Allison trans it's tough to beat on reliability.
Ford has had many problems with it's diesel designs and change them frequently. I hear good things about the new ones but the 6.0 had problems.
Dodge of course uses a Cummins Diesel that is well proven and a torque monster but horsepower was never the goal. Just don't order at a Drive Through without shutting off the engine.  :D Dodge's weak point I believe is their trans and needs to be beefed up to match the Cummins.

We all argue about whose better but all these trucks are running the roads every day and Mechanics like me will never run out of work on them.   :aok

Don't get me started on Toyota and the way they deceived the public on reliability.
I always wanted to fight an impossible battle against incredible odds.
