lol all he did in a video was go around a few muddy corners and floor it. The dyno run wasn't even all that impressive. If I'm paying pretty much 70k I want truck that can put atleast 600 rwhp down. Paid 17k for my truck and put EFI live tuning with exhaust and lift pump and I'm putting down ~470 rwhp and ~850tq. THats with stock turbo, tranny, intake, and engine components.

Did you pay for it or did mommy and daddy pay for it, just like your other cars?

If you wanna see a real Rally Raptor look no further.

In this one Andy McMillin has modified his Raptor to take on the Baja 500. Cant run anything stock on that track or you'll screw over your truck faster than throwing it into a lake.

I still have yet to see a Chevy or Dodge in any kind of off-road rally races - as for MPG that doesn't matter when you're out having fun in the mud. Not to mention the Raptor wasn't made to be efficient, it was made to be powerful.

MEh. im just happy it will only cost 5 grand to fix my K5 blazer
which is better than a bronco :neener:

I doubt anyone here really liked the Bronco. I'd take a Blazer over the Bronco any day.

 My 2 cents on diesels......

GM dealer mechanic so I'm somewhat biased going in. That said GM's Duramax is indeed mostly designed by Isuzu in partnership with GM. It is the quietest smoothest diesel I've encountered and there is special programming for emergency vehicles to squeeze out even more performance. Mated with an Allison trans it's tough to beat on reliability.
Ford has had many problems with it's diesel designs and change them frequently. I hear good things about the new ones but the 6.0 had problems.
Dodge of course uses a Cummins Diesel that is well proven and a torque monster but horsepower was never the goal. Just don't order at a Drive Through without shutting off the engine.  :D Dodge's weak point I believe is their trans and needs to be beefed up to match the Cummins.

We all argue about whose better but all these trucks are running the roads every day and Mechanics like me will never run out of work on them.   :aok

Don't get me started on Toyota and the way they deceived the public on reliability.

the only diesels ford used that i liked were the 7.3's. but i don't think those were fords.

 nosir.

 homestead raceway.

randy pobst took a zl around laguna, then a shelby. the shelby outlapped the zl there too.

it's about 50-50, on roadcourses that the shelby can take the zl. it handles well enough(although not as well as the zl) that if it's not in front, all its driver needs is a good straight run to get out front...then it handles well enough to stay there.....but admittedly it needs that straight run.

what will be really interesting, is when they go to independent rear.

and i'm not bashing the chevys.....i like em all, as all of you guys should know already.

I googled it, didn't turn up any results for a true rally race truck. All I got was the power they produced and the models you can get.

Also, if you like big trucks then check this one out - 2014 Ford Tremor.

Baja 500 Trophy Truck category had everything. Or are you looking for modified trucks bought off showroom floors? If so just look up prerunners, seen a couple of these in my area.

I was looking more towards modified. You cant bring a stock truck to a Baja 500, let alone any true rally race. You'll end up killing that truck quite fast.

There are plenty of Chevy and even GMC trucks running offroad events. One of many

Aren't Chevy/GMC the same thing but with different names? Kind of like Lincoln/Mercury?

Cap, IIRC ford tried an independent rearend in the Tbird in the late 80's. I think it was a BMW design but I could be wrong. I drove both the turbo and V8 versions, which were fox platforms. While they didn't make big power the turbo version was much better,I suspect because of the reduced weight over the front.

Personally I think they need to move the motor back and use an IRS,close to a 50/50 weight as they can get, then the stangs will be "interesting"!
